Chao Lake City was called southern nest. It is located in the center of Anhui and surrounded by the five freshwater lakes nearby the Yangtze River Yangtze River tour . Chao Lake City is in the central region of Anhui called "Golden Triangle". The city governs Lujiang County, Wuwei County, He County, Hanshan County and Juchao District. The whole city is a 9423 square kilometer territory

Zhongmiao Temple

The Zhongmiao Temple is located on a big rock in northern Chao Lake (famous attraction in Anhui for last minute China travel deals). The rock looks like a phoenix with cinnabar colour and it is called "Phoenix Platform". The Zhongmiao Temple was built in the end of the Han Dynasty and has a 1700 year history. It was a Taoist Temple and changed to be a Buddhist temple. Many visitors came to this temple in history and it is well known as "Jiuhua in the south and the Zhongmiao Temple in the north". The three courtyards in the temple is Hui architectural style of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The current Zhongmiao Temple had been renovated several times since 1986.

Luoshi Park

The poet, Liu Yuxi, wrote the famous poem "Luoshi Ming" when he was an officer of He Prefecture (in modern Chao Lake). The content of Luoshi Ming is "A mountain does not need to be tall to be famous. It will be famous if there is a deity in the mountain. A river does not need to be deep to be spiritual. It will be famous if there is dragon in the river".

Luoshi Park (an optional destination for your China Holidays) covers a land area of 50 acres and water area of over 10 acres. The front door is arch style. There is a "Half-moon pond" built in the Ming Dynasty and the "Linliu Pavilion" on the east of the pond built in the Qing Dynasty.

Laoshan Island

Laoshan Island is about 100 hectares and it is the biggest island within the Chao Lake. It is called "Oasis on the Lake" because of the lush forests.

Laoshan Island has great landscapes. There is a natural harbor in the south and it was call "Nantang" formerly. The harbor was built by the generals Yu Tonghai and Liao Yongan with their navies in the Yuan Dynasty. The Shengfei Temple on the mountainside was built with squared stones in 1630. It is 51 meters high with octagonal shape and seven floors with 135 steps. There are 802 brick Buddha and 25 stone tablets in the pagoda.

Taihu Mountain

Although the name of Taihu Mountain contains the meaning of a lake, there is no lake nearby the mountain. Taihu Mountain Park covers an area of 1800 hectares and it is the first green barrier among Hufei City and Jiuhua Mountain and Huang Mountain (you can consider these places after Shanghai tours). Taihu Mountain is known as "Small Jiuhua". Inside the park, there are many ancient temples, Taihu Mountain Deer Park - which is the biggest deer park in East China - and beautiful holiday cottages in Moon Bay.
